# Image credits

All images on this site are **placeholders**. They are real, correctly-licensed
images — not filler — so the site can be reviewed and measured as it will actually
perform, but they depict specimens from public herbarium collections, not this
practice. Replace them before launch and update this file.

Every image was cropped to its slot and mapped onto the site's own `--olive` → `--bone`
tonal ramp so it sits inside the palette. Sources and crop values are in
`README.md` under "Rebuilding the images".

**No image is licensed CC BY-SA.** That is deliberate: the tonal treatment makes each
file a derivative work, and a share-alike licence would pass its obligation on to the
client's site asset. Attribution-only and public-domain sources avoid that.

## While these images are in use

Three of the four are CC BY 4.0, which requires visible credit. This page satisfies
that only if it is reachable — so either keep a link to it, or replace the images.
The moment all four are replaced with the practice's own photography, this obligation
disappears and this file can be reduced to a note.

## About the portrait slot

`portrait.*` is a herbarium sheet, not a photograph of a person. This is deliberate:
a stock photograph of an identifiable stranger, captioned with the practitioner's
name, is a fabricated likeness on a page that represents a real professional — and
it is exactly the kind of placeholder that survives quietly to launch. The slot holds
the correct 4:5 composition and swaps cleanly for a real portrait.
